Seems like I had a busy weekend. Went for a nice short 16 mile ride down to Whole Foods in Walnut Creek Saturday morning and had a cup of coffee. Went down to the "Eat Real Festival" in Oakland in the afternoon. I wanted to check out the backyard chickens. I've been thinking about getting a few hens - it would be awesome to have fresh laid eggs every day. I would need to build a coop as we had foxes in the neighborhood. We got to the festival kind of late. It was packed and after walking a bit, most of the booths had sold out of food. So we headed into Berkeley for some Ethiopian food at our trusted ADDIS and then stopped at BITTERSWEET for a cup of hot chocolate for a nightcap. Kind of fell off the calorie wagon this weekend!Had breakfast with Mom at AUNT MARY"S CAFE and then spent the rest of the day cleaning up a bit. I've got a few prints I don't know what to do with. It's the old problem - too many images and not enough space for them. You can only print so many pictures. I only have so many walls...I get into a funk and wonder why even shoot.

 Spent the day shoot family pictures yesterday with a co-workers family. Their kids are so cute. Quite a learning experience for me. As with everything, I always tell my self to bring a notebook to take notes and record ideas that would make future shoots easier, more efficient, more fun, etc. I'll have to invest in a cart of some kind, a larger photo bags to hold EVERYTHING and maybe a couple Pelican cases to hold lighting equipment. Working with my camera's autofocus micro adjustment. I dropped my camera a while ago. Landed right on the front of my 100mm lens. Put a nice dent in filter rings of the lens, but otherwise it still works. All of the lenses needed adjusting - they all back focused. I'll send in the camera sometime for a clean and have the techs check the focusing.

 Haven't been out shooting in a while, but man, I've been doing a bunch of printing and matting. I finally developed a B&amp;W profile for the Epson 4000 and I have to say that I'm happy with the results I've been getting. It's quite gratifying to mat a print and slip it into a protective cover. It feels finished at that point. Framing it makes it that much nicer, but seeing the package put together really finishes it for me.
<br />
<br />As much as I like film and darkroom work, I could never get the expression that I get in an inkjet print. My inkjet prints are much better than my traditional silver prints ever were by a long shot.

 Entirely too late to be having a martini, but as I'm on vacation and I don't have to get up early tomorrow.Shooting smoke again. I'll be putting together a folio of smoke images. Shot a bunch this evening, mostly working out the workflow.Developed some outstanding film last week. The negs look pretty good. I just need to make a little time to go into Berkeley or San Francisco to use one of the dark rooms to do a little printing.

 Went to the A's / Giant's game today. The Giants swept the A's. I guess it's payback for when the A's swept the Giant's last month... Beautiful day out though. I'd have liked it a bit cooler. There's something wrong with a warm summer in San Francisco.
